Bubba-Bug Popcorn: How It Started
Lemonade stands just don't work when settled on a country road. So, Ethan (Bubba) and I (Bug) decided to tackle what our family knows best - farming - and grow popcorn. For 10 years now, we have worked to provide great popcorn as snacks and gifts to our customers. Although, Bubba stepped back to focus on his own acreage, he and I still squeeze in some sibling bonding while planting, picking, shucking, shelling, cleaning and packaging our annual crop. Together, we wish you all the best and thank you for supporting our popcorn stand!
Giving Back
The kids say this is their favorite part of having a business - giving back. In 2022, two organizations will receive a portion of popcorn sales.
1) KSB Hospital Foundation: Great-Grandma June spent 50 years as a nurse at KSB Hospital. The recently opened KSB Women's Health Center offers a comfortable, safe environment for women to visit for important tests and healthcare. To honor and remember close family friends who have fought cancer, 1/2 of the sales of Pink Popcorn will go to KSB Hospital Foundation to benefit women's health initiatives.
2) SVCC Impact Program: Pledging to "build bright futures through earned tuition", the Impact Program is offered to all 8th grade students in the SVCC district. Bubba-Bug Popcorn is proud to have been the first donor to the program in 2019. Education comes in many forms, and the kids believe everyone gets the opportunity to partake of it. 1/2 of the sales of all other popcorn goes to the Impact Program.
Thank you for helping Bubba-Bug Popcorn give back this holiday season!
